Welcome to all Nairn Academy Former Pupils
Extract from Millbank Primary School News - 12/2/10 - Centenary
Millbank was 100 years old yesterday and the centenary celebrations gave us a super start to the new term.

As you can see from the picture, the school’s birthday cake was spectacular. Everyone enjoyed a piece of it. Thank you very much to Asher’s Bakery for donating it. The cake was not only beautifully decorated in the shape of the school logo but it tasted delicious as well.
Each pupil also received a commemorative medal and I hope this will be a treasured possession to all. Thank you to Mrs L. Main, her children and a team of helpers for attaching the ribbons to the medals in readiness for the presentation by Mr S. Forbes, a former pupil and well-known and respected member of the Nairn community. Mr Forbes has been a frequent visitor to the school in the past few years advising and helping children when they are studying Food and Farming.
The centenary flag, sponsored by Jimmy and Margaret Munro, Cawdor Taxis and designed by Sam Russell, P3 pupil, was flown for the first time yesterday afternoon. Despite the cold, frosty weather we also had a “virtual” tree planting. Mr G. Soutar, a former janitor at Millbank, planted the copper beech tree, which was kindly donated by Green’s Nursery at Littlemill. When the ground is less frozen, we also plan to bury a time capsule, which was very kindly made for us by Mr K. Wescott.
Pupils decided on the contents of the time capsule. After a short while outside, our guests were invited to the canteen to enjoy a welcome cup of tea or coffee and a piece of birthday cake. Many thanks to Mrs Walker and Mrs Dunn for volunteering to serve all the refreshments. Let’s hope that the sun will shine for our school open day on Saturday 22 May. We are very grateful to Mr Gordon Main and GF Job for giving us generous monetary donations towards the cost of our birthday celebrations.
